93% of complaints adjudicated according to Complaints Statistics revealed by Maldives Broadcasting Commission

Maldives Broadcasting Commission has stated that 93% of complaints have been adjudicated in the complaints statics revealed by the Commission as at 31 July 2012.

According to the Complaints Statistics revealed from the inception of the Commission on 04th April 2011; a total of 61 complaints have been lodged till the end of July 2012 from which 57 complaints have been adjudicated. This is 93% of total complaints and currently there are four pending complaints to be adjudicated from which three complaints have been lodged after 18th July 2012.

The statistics also revealed 64% of the complaints lodged are related to the channel and content, 18% of complaints lodged are related to licensing while 10% are complaints related to services and the remaining 8% are complaints related to other issues.

Maldives Broadcasting Commission has a complaints mechanism so any individual or any party can lodge a complaint with regards to any aspect of broadcasting sector to the Commission. Complaints can be lodged by filling a Complaints form which is available from the front office of the Broadcasting Commission or can be downloaded from the Commissions website
