Certificates awarded to participants of Awareness workshop for media on Penal Code organized by Attorney General’s Office

Certificates were awarded today to participants of awareness workshop for media on Penal Code organized by Attorney General Office.

In the closing ceremony held to mark the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were distributed to participants by Vice President of Broadcasting Commission Abdulla Sujau. In his speech addressing the participants Abdullah Sujau said that Media will be playing a vital role in making public aware of the newly formulated penal code thus it is crucial for media to provide this information responsibly. In addition he conveyed gratitude to Attorney General’s Office for organizing this workshop and thanked the facilitators of the workshop.

The aim of conducting this workshop is to build awareness on penal code and brief media on reporting on crime.

The facilitator of the workshop was Legal Consultant of Legal Sector Resource Centre Uz Hussain Shameem.

In addition to broadcast media other stakeholders participated on this workshop and were awarded certificates.
