President of Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) Moneeza Hashimi visited the Maldives Broadcasting Commission today and met with Commissioner Aishath Hana.
In this meeting, discussions were focused on collaboration between Broadcasting Commission and CBA. In this regard, possibility of broadcast development projects in Maldives was also discussed.
The importance of conducting gender sensitization training programs for local broadcasters with the assistance of CBA were also discussed.
Furthermore it was agreed to submit proposals from the Commission to CBA to get funds to run programs in order to develop the Maldivian broadcast industry.
In an effort to facilitate the Commission to obtain CBA membership, the possibility of discounted and/or installment based payment modes was also discussed.
In addition to Commissioner, Aishath Hana, the meeting was attended by the Secretary General, Noora Ali and Director, Aishath Shaaheen.
The purpose of Ms. Moneeza’s trip to Maldives is to inaugurate the workshop organized by Ministry of Environment and Energy on “Ozone,Climate and Media: Communicating for Survival” being held from 27-28 February 2013.
