Sub Regional workshop on “Training of Journalists on Legal Awareness in an Era of Media Convergence” to be held

Maldives Broadcasting Commission to host sub-regional workshop on “Training of journalists on legal awareness in an era of media convergence”.
The training is to be held from 23-27thSeptember 2012 at Nalahiya Hotel in Male’
Asia-pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), International program for development and Communication (IPDC) and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with Maldives Broadcasting Commission is facilitating this workshop targeting broadcasters from the South Asian sub region.
The aim of this workshop is to provide broadcasters an understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities and to develop their practical skills to anticipate and respond to legal challenges in the work environment.
Selected personnel from AIBD member organizations from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Indonesia and Maldives are to participate in this workshop.
The training will be conducted by Mr. David Mould who is an expert in the field of Broadcast journalism training.
