Maldives Broadcasting Commission has reminded broadcasters not to use nick names to mock individuals, organizations and broadcasting stations and adhere to broadcasting code of practice.
Following is the text from the circular sent by the Commission to all broadcasters.
“It has come to our attention that some broadcasters are using nick names to mock individuals, organizations and broadcasting stations
“According to the broadcasting code of practice: third section first guideline, broadcasters are guided to refrain from broadcasting any words, pictures or sound which is disrespectful towards an individual or organization and that degrades their status.
“Therefore, we remind broadcasters to be ensured that the content broadcasted adheres to the Code of Practice.”
