Maldives Broadcasting Commission has reminded broadcasters to obtain permission from the Commission prior to sending test signals and inform the commencement date of Broadcasting Services to the Commission.

According to 16th clause of the Broadcasting Regulation, a broadcaster can send test signals after submitting the content information and the schedule of the test signal and upon receiving the permission from the Commission. The clause also states broadcasters not to include news, current affairs, notices or advertisements and any public announcement in the content of test signals.

The circular released by the Commission states all broadcasting stations that have not commenced services to pay attention and send the test signals in accordance to the 16 clause of broadcasting regulation. Commission also requests broadcasters who have not started their operations to inform the Commission in writing the date of their commencement of broadcasting service.
