Commission commences formulation of a “Threat Analysis Report” to Broadcasters

Maldives Broadcasting Commission has commenced the work of formulate a report to identify threats and challenges to broadcasters in performing their duties freely.
The aim of formulating this “Threat Analysis Report” is to identify the threats and challenges to free media and understand the causes and to make recommendations on ways to eliminate these threats and build a conducive environment for broadcasters thus sustaining the freedom of media enshrined in the Constitution.
To formulate this report, Commission will be collecting information on the damages to media organizations, their equipment and the difficulties faced for journalists in carrying out their jobs from January 2011.
