The Maldives Broadcasting Commission is deeply concerned of the detention of broadcast media personnel during the recent wave of street unrest in Male’ City.
Maldives Broadcasting Commission thus advises the authorities to exercise caution to ensure that the boundaries of the freedom of expression are respected even in such situations. The Commission also calls on creating an environment in which transparency, impartiality and free media can be enhanced and enforced.
