First batch of Journalists accredited in accordance with Accreditation Regulation

Maldives Broadcasting Commission has issued the first batch of accreditation cards to journalists under the Accreditation Regulation formulated by the Commission in accordance with Freedom of Peaceful Assembly Act.
The three Journalists accredited today were from Techno Media, who is a licensed broadcaster.
“Regulation on Accreditation of journalists” is a regulation to accredit journalists covering peaceful protests in order to establish procedures on how journalists will be accredited and to provide support for media personnel in ensuring the freedom of media guaranteed by the Article 28 of the Constitution.
Accreditation Regulation became effective on 14 April 2013.
