Maldives Broadcasting Commission has invited all broadcasters to participate in Hajj draw

Following is the text from the circular sent to all broadcasters.

“Ministry of Islamic Affairs Ministry of Islamic Affairs has requested Maldives Broadcasting Commission to select a broadcaster for the Hajj trip offered by the Saudi government to cover the Hajj event via Radio and Television.

“According to the selection criteria set by the Saudi government, the eligible person needs to be an experienced male broadcast journalist who has not performed Hajj before.  Once the Commission shortlists three candidates, their CV’s will be sent to Saudi Arabia and the final selection would be done by them.

“The Commission has decided that the opportunity will be given to all licensed broadcasters but those who have not started to operate from 10 September 2012 will not be eligible to participate in the draw.

 “The draw will be held tomorrow, 12 September 2012, Wednesday at 13:00 hours at the Commission. To participate in the draw one representative from a broadcasting station must be present in the draw and one participant cannot represent more than one channel.

“The Commission invites all broadcasters who have commenced broadcasting news and programs to participate in this draw.”
