Workshop on “Training of Journalists on Legal awareness in an era of media convergence” commences.

Workshop on “Training of Journalists on Legal awareness in an era of media convergence” commenced today at the Nalahiya Hotel. During the opening ceremony held today at 0930 hrs,  the Commissioners of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission, senior officials from AIBD and delegates representing AIBD member countries participated.

The workshop, which will continue until 27th September 2012, was organized by the Asia-pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), International program for development and Communication (IPDC) and United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in collaboration with Maldives Broadcasting Commission.

The aim of this workshop is to provide broadcasters an understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities and to develop their practical skills to anticipate and respond to legal challenges in the work environment.

Selected employees of AIDB member organizations from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Indonesia and Maldives are participating in this workshop.

The training will be conducted by Mr. David Mould who is an expert on this field.
