Maldives Broadcasting Commission strongly condemns the brutal murder of Dr.Afrasheem Ali. Following is the statement released by the Commission regarding this matter.
“The Commission is deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news of the brutal murder of Member of Parliament for R.Ungoofaaru district, Dr. Afrasheem Ali.
“Dr.Afrasheem is religious scholar who has made great contributions to the nation using broadcast media to build public awareness on various religious and social issues. His sudden death is an innumerable loss to the nation.
“Maldives Broadcasting Commission strongly condemns the brutal murder of Dr.Afrasheem on his way home after speaking on religious program at TVM. The Commission calls upon the respective authorities to investigate and bring the perpetrators of this inhuman act to justice.
“May Allah grant Dr.Afrasheem paradise and grant his family patience. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family as we mourn the irrecoverable loss ”
