“Awareness Workshop for Journalists on Media Ethics”, a training program conducted by Maldives Broadcasting Commission in collaboration with Islamic University of Maldives has been concluded today.
Certificates to the participants were distributed by Vice Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives, Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa in the closing ceremony held at Islamic University of Maldives.
The training program is the first of its kind following the signing of a MoU between Islamic University of Maldives and Maldives Broadcasting Commission on 24th September 2020. The workshop was aimed for newsroom journalists and editors to familiarize them in broadcast code of practice and adhering to Islamic principles while delivering news.
The sessions which were conducted from October 2nd to 4th was conducted by Maldives Broadcasting Commission members, technical experts from Islamic University of Maldives and Gender Ministry.
In the closing ceremony, Maldives Broadcasting Commission President Maryam Waheeda, Vice Chancellor of IUM, Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa and Gender Ministry’s Director of Communication, Ibrahim Mohamed spoke on the importance of adhering to broadcast code of practice while disseminating information through media.
